Lately, things have been kind of scary. And I know I put Caretaker through a lot with us all getting so hurt by that Mimic. I was thinking... if I'd had more powers... maybe we could have all come back home alive, at least.

I don't want to be caught off guard like that again, and things... are getting more complicated now, with Nyssa and the shadows. So I'm not sure I can really afford to waste any time at this point.

Hm. It will not be just a simple quest. Such powers only come with intense training.

That's okay. I know that if you give it to me too cheaply, it'll hurt you. So... I'll work really hard to earn all of them, I promise!

Then first you must prove your body is strong enough to accept this burden! Your first two tasks will be to defeat someone in a fistfight and to run a lap around this realm, from cabin to cabin.

Then you'll have to train your mind! Creativity is important. If you can't express yourself artfully, then there's no point. You'll have to create something that belongs to you and you only -- a song, an outfit, a technique, a weapon...anything you can think of. Then, you must successfully defeat someone in a challenge of wits. Or, another fight if you want. Fights are basically challenges of wit.

Finally, you have to strengthen your soul. Confront your greatest fear. Or your second greatest fear.

And for now, you can tell me of a heroic dream you've had. Do all this, and I will consider granting you these powers.

[ how will she even KNOW what her first or third greatest fear is? it feels like a hard thing to quantify... even if she wouldn't consider herself afraid of most things
